Perodua has released its very first MPV called the Alza. Here’s our take on this MPV.

The design is very close to the Toyota Passo Sette and Daihatsu Boon Luminas.

The Perodua Alza is using the infamous 3SZ-VE 1.5-litre engine, as used in the Avanza 1.5 and Rush

Interior of the Premium AT Alza looks neat, modern and futuristic.

Perodua claims 12.7 km per liters with the automatic transmission model and 15.5 km per liters with the manual transmission model.

Seats however are so so but does its job of transporting people around ; )

Though the Alza looks small but to our surprise, even a full grown person (5ft 6-8inches) can fit at the 3rd row. Of course the taller the person is, the more that person will have to give up on leg room.

Control buttons on the steering wheel looks nice compared to the plain black rubber type.

Boot space is small so if you want more space, just fold the 3rd row seats and you should have alot of space for storing your baggage.

Wheel-o-sophy : The Perodua Alza seems to offer a lot of promising features. While it may not be an ideal 7 seater, it is a very flexible MPV. It is a great 5+2 seater as Perodua claims. If you are a Myvi fan but have always complained about the boot space at the back, then the Alza offers exactly that. It is also perfect for short trips where you need to transport 6-7 people out for dinner for example. The car would make an excellent second car for multi-purposes like carrying that piece of furniture back from IKEA, etc. The design in our opinion is very decent. The exterior dimensions (LxWxH) are 4205 x 1695 x 1620 and the interior dimensions are 2540 x 1415 x 1310. This means it is around the size of the Avanza but way sportier because of its’ lower roof height. It will all come down to if Perodua can offer the goods.
