Remember car one moment, MPV the next? Well, a few batches have been out and here are some feedback on issues and problems faced by some of the Alzarians they call themselves:

1) Noise from the outside gets in when travelling at high speed. Apparently this was due to the design of car. We spoke to one of the Perodua agents and they said this issue has been resolved.
2) Braking noise: This could be due to the car/ brakes being new.
3) 3rd row right hand seat heats up over long distance journeys. This problem is yet to be justified and validated.
4) Extremely noisy when rain falls on the roof. This could be due to poor (maybe none) sound insulations. There have been reports saying that the noise is bearable. Spoke to another agent about this as well but they said they have not tried to test drive the car during heavy rain. Makes sense. Who would want to go for a test drive while it is raining right? : )
5) Rustproof at the undercarriage is uneven. Now this needs careful attention. However, this may not happen to all models.
6) Paint coating is not even as well.
7) Air cond makes funny kind of noise (like rats??). Apparently, the belts are not properly tighten.
Wheel-o-sopy.com : Don’t get us wrong. We do support Perodua. We did in fact get a unit for ourselves and that is what made us do some research online. There have been some localized scary stories about getting their Alza in bad condition. Always remember to check before registering. Good thing is that the fuel consumption is very efficient. We understand that there is a higher than expected demand for the Perodua Alza but hopefully the quality doesn’t suffer out of this; hence the QC department may have to step up a gear or else Perodua will end up no different from Proton (which have actually improved significantly over the years in terms of quality control). Do pray with us that our Alza gets here in perfect condition ; )

I got the same challenge with the aircond making funny “Chit chit sound”. Send to SC for checking. They are now requesting me to send it back to them to check the compressor. Checking the compressor, does it means they have to open the dashboard? I am afraid later more problem
When i need to slow down my car and step on the break “left side” there’s a LOUD SOUND like the break is too tight or something. Im going back to the service centre this friday to check it out!
1)Noise from outside gets in when travelling..P2 unable to resolved this problem..talk equal no talk.
2)Breaking Noise..during slow down and LOUDSOUND might be the brake disc uneven but this problem also related to the brake pad material quality.
(Safety item!!!!!!and they give low quality product)
3)Extremely noisy when rain fall on the roof – it’s really noisy- ‘Yes’ the sound insulation very poor inside the Headlining.
4)Paint coating is not even – confirmed is not even but when send to Service Ctr for respray,you get the finishing more worst than the initial condition.
Note:1)If your car send to Service Ctr for repairing or part replacement,kindly make sure the job done as per original condition.
2)I have bad experienced after they do warranty part replacement on my car and the condtion n quality of the part is still remain the same warping problem.
3)Going to Service Ctr for checking is not the issue but the problem is our time and cost is wasted at least full day.
i got problem on alza due to the paint and appearance is in worse condition when receive the new purchase car. The problem stone chip mark car body and rear bumper on new car. Paint water mark on the side panel due to factory painting problem.Totally appearance of new car purchase is bad. Another main problem is do not accept the car if requested by the sales person. DO THE FINAL INSPECTION before accept as the sales person always cheat for us to accept the car before inspection. It is totally their ways of mislead the customer to accept the car event though they know that the car have appearance problem so that you cannot complaint back as YOU ALREADY ACCEPT.
mine alza Ezi is more worse,
1. Paint on the body have some harsh or rough surface.
It seem like the clear coat coating not evenly.
2. brake sound when reverse especially on the early
morning. SC claim is cause by dust.
3. Steering have abnormal sound and feel when doing
turning. According to the SC person the steering
have many part need to check to confirm the
problem. The worse case is replace the whole
steering compartment. Need at least about 3~4
working days to replace (if happen) as mine alza
still in waiting list for servicing.
Mine car is not older than 4 month and the mileage is less than 9K already have this problem. What else can expect from a new car apart from being drive to the SC for repairing. No different compare with 2nd hand car. Still a lot of design problem and quality issue arise on the Perodua alza car. Hence this car shall not be in production if this problem exist and they noted it.
Therefore can conclude that buying a malaysia car is like buying a stock. Either it come OK or worse will find you.
Breaking noise during slow down same problem as Lim Lay Chin… I bought the car since march 2010 untill now still not settle yet! Perodua serv already changed brake drum for the both side for 2 times and repaired so many times but still facing with the same problem!!
Breaking noise, for alza owners I, Recomended use Brake Pad Brand “Bosch Part No: BP 335″.
oh no! I’m planning to buy EZi … now may reconsider.
Do the 2011 model alza has the similar problem? Has the problem been rectified and resolved?

i think mine is the worst, only get to drive my car for 4 days and then return back to SC.. got problem with the engine (white smoke came out from exaust), sluggish engine in the morning, wind noise when driving at 80km/h, brake noise and wierd sound at back when driven on bumbing line.
after waiting about 6 weeks, i finally get back my alza with new engine (original engine got scratch inside cylider block maybe due to installation), wind noise has been reduce after change wheater strip at driver side. but for the wierd noise they haven’t figured it out yet since when send back to SC, the problem didn’t occur. only when i’m driving it at highway or long distance drive.
now notice my engine don’t have pickup as the original engine. top speed achieve only 140km/h and it took same time to achieve that speed. even i can’t shake-off perodua kancil from my back.. planning to send it back this saturday for inspection. this alza is worst then my privious Wira S.E
I am facing the same problem with the brake. Very noisy when I step on the break. I am afraid it will affect the performance of the braking system. Anyone has any solution?
Dashboard deform, replaced new set BUT caused air condition switch damaged!!! Left drive shaft boot leak!!! After replaced dashboard outside bad smell entering especially follow the vehicle with strong exhaust “smoke”!! Three times accessed finally STILL need to report to HQ!!!!!!!!!! Wait lah………….
I bought alza last year. Now when i making turn especially roundabout there is abnormal sound (tik tak, tik tak) from my car. I send it to service, but, they couldn’t identify the problem is from where. Problem is yet to solve. Anyone has the same problem as me?
i just bought alza last month..but i’ve been to perodua service 4th times already…coz..i feel like there is a highway inside my car..when i drive fast, i can feel the sound of the wind and the outside vehicles’s sound very clearly…it just like a whistle when the wind and the sound are pushing each other to go inside my car through a “BOCOR” window…already chage the rubber frame but….sadly…..no effect…
I bought P2 Alza just about 3 weeks ago, the wind like sound appear from the front driver’s side. It become worst when driving at 60kmh and above. I’ve complain to P2 SC, they said the dashboard need to be replaced!!QC makan GAJI BUTE kerr???

dear friends… im considering to buy alza and trade in my wife’s Gen2 for a bigger car. now after reading all this, make me wonder how good Alza’s quality is. the sales girl talked so much positive things about alza over exora. with this kind of your real life experience make me wonder how true is that? im considering alza because of the engine is using timing chain thus no need to change every 60k or 70k and the FC, they said better than exora. can you guys help me to decide, which is better, alza or exora. ?

My alza even worse. Get car 3 days rattling sound. And the driver door is not assembly proper. And now dashboard sound and Driver seat also sound. TOTALLY regard to owning this car. Now my car is already 1 and hlaf month old……only 2287km millage. What i can say is the condition is even worse then my 21 old saga. Even my saga only have the rush problem but the engine and the sound isolator is even more better then this PERODUA ALZA. After got this car….been to SC more then 7 times and the next appointment is on 23/7/2011. I really can’t imagine what will happen next. And i planing to report this to Malaysia Consumer complaint or just sell it. Just my 2 cent. Don’t get this car or will end up to repair car…….THnaks

Mines alza too poor quality also.When i wash my car inside left driver side carpet mat have wet.I send to SC they did mention due to poor bond on the front windscreen “mirror”.I believe due to have a small hole.
Recently happen is driver steering top side drawer internal worm gear broken cause slanting.This happen after i park on during sun hot period.Still awaiting to make a complaint for replacement.Other problem just today notice is bonnect rubber have a rusty mark.When i take a look closely almost 60% inside rubber seal a lot of rusty mark..Still awaiting too complaint..
Pls alert all the members who want to buy alza thing twice…of course cheap but our money,time cannot wasting for this kind of problem..It may clash with our current job due to need to apply leave to conduct repairing…really wasting time…my suggestion is better buy japan car….much better guys…

I have the same exact problems like u guys had (ALL OF IT). Man, its a pain in the ass. Please think twice (or more) for those whose loan had just being approved. Look for other cars. I’m getting bored with all the craps and just can’t take it anymore with the break noise, wind noise, air-con noise, (well, i can list down all of them but it will take so much space).

My elder bro bought alza premium last year april 2010. He bought it for my dad so the car will be mostly at my hometown. My bro is at kl. My dad wont be using that car because he is used to drive manual car. Most of the time i will use the alza. For few months it was smooth and nice. Then the 1st problem came when i realize there was a sound from the driver side door. It is like metal and metal rubbing each othr.i thought the sound will soon go off. But it gets worse. Beside the driver, the passenger door also got the same sound. It was really irritating. I went to SC and make complain abt that. But when they drive the car, the sound is not there. It happens few times. After that the next i realize is that there are noise coming from behind at the 3rd row seat and middle row seat belt. After that there are sound from under the dashboard and frm the steering wheels. I complain abt that to SC. And they said it might be because of the airbag in the steering wheel. Are they joking!? Since they told me that, i really doubt if the airbag will work if anything goes wrong. Seriously this car is a piece of junk. No quality at all. Wasting money and time. Better buy a nissan grand livina. Pls think more then 10 times if u wana buy this car!
I bought alza last year Jan 2010 until now having same problem, with brake pad noise early in the morning. Every weeks i need to clean my sport rims front, due to brake pad heavy dust dirty. The new problems speakers front got cracking sound. Noisy sound when rain fall on the roof. Front driver’s side safety belt sometimes stuck. Front left door switch[door sensor] not function. Im regret now…. got so many problems on alza.Whats the QC are doing?? My previous kancil car i use for 7 years “NO PROBLEM.”
Hi to all alza friend, i bought my car since March 2011.Problem is:-
1) driver side near to tyre body metal got sound like metal and metal rubbing each other (Sent P2 few time and finally solve that sound by ajusted that metal body. P2 say that metal touch that metal sound)
2) dashboard sound when driving at unbalance road. Look like that dashboard really plastical( Sent P2 say that is normal. Then i solve my self and get that sound is near to left hand dashboard. I put some rubber mat slip to dashboard (near to glass and dasboard. Reason that low cost material used to that dasboard.
3. middle sit behind driver side got sound after i drive 3 month later. That sit really thin and cheap material. (At my service 20k i told P2 to repair it and that answer is “oh… yr car sit sound is normal” what is that stupid answer. I will try to sent to other P2 again.

1st bad impression the noise from the both side window after travel 60-80km ,wind sound is annoying
later replace at SC ,they replace the ‘rubber’ at the triangle glass at both front window.if have noise later year SC won’t replace ,i can’t accept it ,it due to manufacture problem.
i use estima 2005 (3000cc new 2005 265k),i bought alza 2011 oct, the dasboard sound estima also have what can say……????alza only 60k
so… scary,i wish to buy this car.its almost got same problem with proton..
